Check out my Grandad!
I have just been shown photos of my Grandad who is on holiday in New Zealand.
He is 70 years old and decided to go Cave Rafting and slide down rapids in a rubber tube. I never expected him to do something like this (heck, I don’t think I’d do something like this!!) and I am very proud of him!
In other news I made a fantastic quiche last night, you can get the recipe here. Highly recommended! My photo doesn’t look as good as the one on the website but I reckon it tasted just as good. I’ve decided I’m going to bake quiches for my host families in Japan as they don’t seem to eat it very often.

I have another picture to share with you all. This is the final design (that means I don’t want any criticism!) for my networking cards which I’ll give to my host families, friends and other people I meet. I’m pretty happy with how the photo turned out, it looks surprisingly professional for a photo taken in our bathroom.

So yeah, Easter is very soon and then the Friday after that =zooooom= I’m off to Japan! I’ve still got heaps of shopping to do and I hope I don’t end up spending too much money on host family presents. I’ve written quite a list and need to trim it down a little. I’m thinking along the lines of wine, business card holders and jewelery. I want to focus on quality rather than quantity (that means no shitty koala toys) but also don’t want to spend too much. Argh! Any ideas are appreciated!
Oh, and thanks to everyone who visits my blog and comments.
It makes me feel loved and I really appreciate it. :]

Find out about laws with taking alochol first. Apparently you can only, send one bottle at a time, so taking lots may be risky.
Photos books are an excelent idea as they make australia look much more beautiful than it is and you can relate and tell lots of stories to places you know which obviously leads to good conversations.
and ew tomato salad, blugh.
hmmmmmmmmm
You can take up to 2.25L on the plane which is 3 bottles so it’s all good!
Ahh! Photobooks are a good idea. Especially for the Oi Family because I know they like Australia.
They’re grape tomatoes – sweeter and yummier
When you’re over there make sure to post heaps of photos to make those of us still here all jealous and stuff.
If you’re like me you’ll get over 1500 photos in a week (My last few decent trips I’ve had over 1500 photos each time)
“it looks surprisingly professional for a photo taken in our bathroom.”
Your bathroom has your name and contact details on it?
I haven’t got a camera yet so it depends how successful my shopping trip is in Akihabara… I think I want the Panasonic Lumix FX35.
Sure does. I did a pretty good job writing it in lipstick on the wall eh.
The Panasonic camera sounds good, but a couple of reviews are saying the resulting images from the camera are grainy and noisy
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Panasonic/panasonic_dmcfx35.asp
Thanks! I’d been looking for reviews a couple of weeks ago but it was too new and I could only really go off the specs.
Hmm… now I don’t know what to get. I’d prefer something as brand spanking new as possible. My budget is about AU$400.
I can verify that the quiche was indeed fantastic
:] It was certainly worth the effort.
Oh, and I should have thanked you for taking the photo for me!
hah your grandad looks like hes sooo shitting himself. i would too tho
looks rocky and dangerous. Nice food, making me hungry!. Oh and with the camera, if i were u, i know its a bit more but u can get canon 400d/350ds for about 100 or so more 2nd hand. would be far better than a P+S camera. just think, its worth it for all those pics u will take!. /canon rant
I’m happy with a point and shoot, something little and shiny that I can keep in my handbag. :] And yeh, definitely can’t go over $400. I’ll have just over $600 to get a digital camera and electronic dictionary.
Of course digital SLRs are awesome.
wow that quiche looks yummy.. yet i hate egg haha!
have fun in japan!
